Despite celebrating his 105th birthday, Dr. Klaus Ruedenberg, distinguished professor emeritus, continues to make new discoveries in his work at the Ames National Laboratory. 🎉 Congratulations to Associate Professor Julia Zaikina! 🎉

We are very pleased to announce that Associate Professor Julia Zaikina has been recognized with the 2026 ACS Inorganic Chemistry Lectureship, an award honoring an early‑career researcher who has demonstrated exceptional creativity and impact in inorganic chemistry.

As part of this recognition, she will organize and present a symposium held in her honor at the ACS Fall Meeting in Chicago, IL, this August.

Krishangee Bez's (’26 chemistry) list of achievements would be impressive for an early academic professor. But the fact that it belongs to an undergraduate chemistry major with a biochemistry minor makes it even more remarkable.
