At 10 AM EST the House of Representatives Committee on Education and the Workforce will be hearing on the Safe Campus Act which would require survivors of sexual violence to report their incidents to the police in order for them to seek justice within their educational system. No survivor should ever be forced to report their incidents to police if they do not wish to do so. Survivors have the right to pursue an education free from the stresses of seeing their attacker on campus without being retraumatized by the justice system. Reporting is a choice all survivors deserve. Please sign the petition (link in description below) and share!

The so-called "Safe Campus Act" would make campuses dramatically less safe by preventing colleges from punishing a student for sexual assault unless the victim reports the attack to the police. If this bill passes, schools will in effect be able to punish students who cheat on a test or beat up a classmate -- but not students who r**e.

Sign our petition to tell Congress to vote NO on the : https://www.change.org/p/u-s-senate-u-s-house-of-representatives-don-t-force-survivors-of-sexual-assault-to-go-to-the-police

"We live in a highly competitive global economy and, if our economy is to be strong, we need the best educated workforce in the world," Sanders said in a statement Sunday. "That will not happen if, every year, hundreds of thousands of bright young people cannot afford to go to college, and if millions more leave school deeply in debt."

Another bold proposal.

WASHINGTON - "It's kinda like going to war, right?" inquires Student Labor Action Project national coordinator Beth Huang with a bright smile to boot. The twenty-five students who have taken a knee in front of her respond with smiles of their own. On a piece of butcher paper that's been painters-tap…
