Looking for a great opportunity to sharpen your livestock judging skills this summer? Join us in Ames on June 5 for the Iowa State Livestock Judging Contest held at the conclusion of the Neal & Kitty Conover Livestock Judging Camps!

📍 Hansen Agriculture Student Learning Center — Ames, Iowa

This contest is a tremendous opportunity to:

🐖 Practice livestock evaluation skills
🎤 Develop oral reasons confidence
📚 Prepare for State FFA Livestock Judging Contests
🏆 Prepare for National Junior College and Collegiate competitions
🤝 Gain exposure to junior college judging coaches and programs

We are excited to welcome:

We’ve recently had several questions regarding the livestock judging contest that will be hosted at the conclusion of camp on June 5 — and we are excited for this event!

🏆 The contest will include:

🐖 8 livestock classes
🎤 Oral reasons
• 4 sets for the Advanced Division
• 2 sets for the Intermediate Division
❓ 2 sets of questions for all contestants

💰 The High Individual in each division will receive a $1,000 scholarship to Iowa State University, and there will be numerous additional prizes awarded throughout each division.

🔹 Beginner

✅ Contest registration is INCLUDED for all camp attendees.

Can’t make camp but still want to compete? No problem! The contest is also open to non-camp attendees ($10 per contestant), and registration will remain open through contest day.

Designed for students with considerable contest experience and/or advanced oral reasons experience, this overnight camp is built for individuals who are serious about competing at a high level and preparing for major contests.

Campers will experience:

🐖 High-level placing classes
📝 Advanced note taking and decision-making strategies
🎤 Intensive oral reasons training
🏆 Full contest experience with feedback
🤝 Instruction from Iowa State Livestock Judging Team members and coaches
🛏️ Overnight collegiate-style camp atmosphere

Designed for youth with some contest experience and/or some oral reasons experience, this camp focuses on developing confidence, sharpening evaluation skills, and advancing livestock judging fundamentals.

Campers will learn:
