alumni, fans, UMass students, and community members up to date on the goings on of our chapter, both socially and philanthropically. Our chapter currently has 50 members who embody all that a man Phi Sigma Kappa represents through our cardinal principles. Being a member of such a close knit brotherhood allows our members to to develop countless close friendships and relationships, both personal an

d professional. First and foremost, all of our brothers are students at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and academics are our number one priority. We have brothers studying numerous fields, from pre-med, to engineering, to journalism, with almost everything in-between. Throughout the year we host numerous social functions varying in size for our brothers and friends. Some annual favorites include: Round Robin night, Homecoming, Halloween Party, Date Parties, Formal, and of course our Ugly Sweater Christmas party. Every member of Phi Sigma Kappa both in our chapter, and nationally is dedicated to raising money for various philanthropic organizations and charities. Our national philanthropy is the Special Olympics which we support throughout the year with several volunteering and fundraising events. We have also taken a special interest in supporting the March of Dimes, an organization that several of our alumni and brothers have a personal affiliation with.

Monday marked the start of our weeklong philanthropy initiative for The Sentencing Project! The Sentencing Project promotes effective and humane responses to crime that minimizes imprisonments and the criminalization of youths and adults by promoting racial, ethnic, and gender justice. Phi Sigma Kappa pledges to donate all proceeds collected throughout the week.

We would like to congratulate Brother John Murphy on being promoted to the rank of Corporal! CPL Murphy serves in 1st Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment. This is an important milestone as John is transitioning from Junior Marine to NCO and is now a Non Commissioned Officer. In a position that’s known as the backbone of the Corps, CPL Murphy will be the vital link between officers and enlisted marines. Hard work, leadership, and discipline are important values in the Corps that coincide with our own at Phi Sig. We are Damn Proud, congratulations CPL Murphy!

Our next subject is Miles Ch**es. This Summer, Miles is working at Signature Bank, a large commercial bank based in NYC. He is on their commercial real estate team working to help manage an asset portfolio of around 30 billion dollars. Impressive, Damn Proud!

This Summer, rising senior Josh Gould is interning for Fidelity. He is working for the fund administration team, specializing in shareholding reporting for various mutual funds and securities offered by Fidelity. Josh is working out of the Merrimack, NH office. Keep it up brother 🙌
