Yesterday, we were one of the sponsors, the Seal of Biliteracy Award Ceremony, held at the College of Education at UMass Amherst. Over 80 students from Southbridge Public Schools, Amherst Regional Public Schools, Springfield Public Schools - Massachusetts, Agawan Public Schools, and Lawrence Public Schools, received this award, representing biliteracy in over 20 languages.

According to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the Seal of Biliteracy “is an official stamp on the transcripts and/or the diploma of the graduating senior and is a statement of accomplishment for future employers and college admissions.”

We were able to give tote bags with stickers, bookmarks, and the following books (in print!) to the recipients:

_Demystifying Translation: Introducing Translation to Non-translators_ by Lynne Bowker (Routledge, 2023)

_Found in Translation: How Language Shapes Our Lives and Transforms the World_ by Nataly Kelly and Jost Zetzsche (Penguin, 2012) purchased at Amherst Books

_Becoming a Translator_ by Regina Galasso (Wiley, 2025)

and a selection of translated literature from Restless Books
