A group of nine students from the Sports Journalism Concentration traveled to Fenway Park Sept. 23 for the first Red Sox Journalism Night. More than 200 Sports Journalism students from universities around the state gathered in the Champions Club to listen and interact with sports writers, personalities and media relations folks from the Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics, as well as ESPN, The Herald and NECN.

There were nine sports media professionals on the panel, including Marc D'Amico, the Digital Content Director and on-air analyst for the Celtics. During a discussion about how students can successfully break into the business, Marc began talking about this young, tenacious journalist he hired just out of college -- UMass Sports Journalism alum Taylor Snow!

A very cool moment on a fun night!

Keith Olbermann on Ray Rice:

Keith Olbermann's segment on Ray Rice was strong, indignant TV, resonant with everyone who believes a two-game suspension for punching out a woman is a clear signal that the NFL doesn't consider domestic violence meaningful violence.
