Undergraduate Research Assistant Position – Professor Lundquist

Sociology Professor Jennifer Lundquist seeks an hourly undergraduate Research Assistant to assist in reference formatting and bibliographic source research for a scholarly project. The applicant will reformat and organize existing references and track down citations from links to online and archival data sources. They should have excellent organizational skills and be detail oriented. The work will be most rewarding to those with interests in social science research.

The position start date is as soon as possible during Spring semester 2019.

Hours will be between 5-10 hours a week and can vary per week.
The pay is $13 an hour.

The applicant should have some familiarity with:
• Google Scholar
• Google docs and Microsoft Word footnotes and endnotes
• UMass Library online article databases
• Citations in Chicago Manual style

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Internship Program helps prepare the next generation of clean energy workers by providing paid internships for students and recent graduates at Massachusetts clean energy and water innovation companies. The program's Spring Session is currently open for enrollment, and will officially begin on January 1, 2019.

Since its inception in 2011, the Massachusetts Clean Energy Internship Program has placed thousands of students and recent graduates at clean energy companies across the Commonwealth, with hundreds of those interns going on to receive full-time job opportunities at their host companies.

The program helps provide Massachusetts clean energy businesses with a talented pool of young professionals, with MassCEC providing stipends for interns during fall, spring and summer sessions.

We are looking for multiple student technicians for aquatic and fisheries ecology research projects in the Roy and Jordaan labs (described below). Preference will be given to rising sophomores and rising juniors from UMass Amherst.

To apply, email cover letter (with name, email address, and phone number for two references, including at least one academic reference), resume (with your local contact information, pertinent experiences, relevant coursework, etc.), and unofficial transcript to Allison Roy [email protected].

If you are interested in more than one project, please indicate your preferred order of consideration in your cover letter. Also indicate if you have work study or have any restrictions on summer availability. Review of applications will begin on 19 March 2018, and interviews will take place the week of March 26th.
