GREAT OPPORTUNITY BELOW TO JOIN OUR TEAM!

The Stockbridge School of Agriculture at UMass Amherst is seeking candidates for a departmental assistant position in support of farm based educational programming at the schools Agricultural Learning Center (ALC). Established in 2013, the ALC was created to provide students with innovative, hands-on learning in the agricultural sciences. Projects at the ALC represent careers in organic vegetable production, animal husbandry, permaculture, arboriculture, horticulture, nursery, and the landscape industries. Applicants must have experience working with both animal and vegetable production systems, a willingness to work outdoors in the summer months with a flexible schedule, have excellent communications skills and the ability to work independently and cooperatively. Specifically, job duties include but are not limited to the following: assist with organic vegetable production in support of the UMass Student Farm, operate small farm equipment, perform daily animal chores, and maintain fencing and housing systems for livestock at the ALC, provide support for the farms vegetable and meat Community Supported Agriculture program, develop content for website and social media pages associated with programming at the ALC.

This is a nine-month position starting May 1st, 2021 through December 1st, 2021 with the possibility of extension. Pay is $17/hr. Interested candidates should apply at the link below.
