A week ago, we celebrated our favorite campus tradition: Homecoming Luncheon. 💚💛

With the support of over 200 alumni and community partners, we raised thousands of dollars for the UAA Alumni Scholarship and celebrated this year's theme of Building Alaska's Health Together. We heard excellent speeches from our board president, Alumni Scholarship recipient Josh Pacillo, the chancellor and our keynote speaker, Emily Ricci, M.P.H. '20. Thanks to all who attended or supported this event!

Our Fall Career Fair is exactly a week away, and alumni are invited!

Most people associate career fairs with current students, but Seawolves are welcome to attend the UAA career fairs after they've graduated. Join us on campus next Wednesday, October 21 in the Student Union from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. to network with employers from a wide variety of industries.

Join us for a Community Art Walk this Wednesday, October 14 at 5:30 p.m..

Open to alumni, students and community members, the Art Walk will take us through east campus to admire the art pieces spread through UAA's buildings. Led by alumna and student worker September Sell, the tour will start in the Social Sciences Building and end in the Fine Arts Building. This week's is leading the charge to revitalize Seawolf pride in Seattle: Randy Bohall, B.A. Economics, '80.

Bohall's favorite memories from his time at UAA come from lettering and making lifelong friends on the r***e team. He left the state after graduating but remained very involved in UAA affairs, serving on the Alumni Association Board of Directors and attending athletics games whenever they came to Seattle. Bohall also advocated for more alumni engagement in Seattle, which led to our new Seattle alumni group on LinkedIn! Read more about this spirited alumnus here: heyor.ca/sOh5N2

✅ Alumni Night at the Sullivan Arena

This semester's first College Alumni Night is in the books! Students, alumni and Seawolf supporters showed up in force at the Sullivan Arena this weekend, cheering on our hockey team as they faced the Denver Pioneers. A CAS student started the game with our national anthem, with exclusive swag and tickets to upcoming Community Lectures given throughout the game.

Somehow it's the second week of October, and our annual Homecoming Luncheon is this Friday!!

The theme of this year's luncheon is "building Alaska's health together" with keynote speaker Emily Ricci, a UAA alumna and deputy commissioner at the Alaska Department of Health. Each Homecoming luncheon serves as a space to reconnect with alumni and campus leadership while supporting the UAA Alumni Scholarship. Our office is so excited to engage with alumni and community partners.

This week's is no stranger to UAA volleyball. Morgan Hooe, B.S. Physical Education '19, played for the Seawolves as a student and is now the head coach.

During her time as a student athlete, Hooe got the Seawolves to four consecutive NCAA tournaments and still holds the No. 2 spot on the program's all-time victories list. Last week's Spirit Run raised over $4000 for food insecurity on campus!

With the support of students, alumni, staff and community partners, UAA is taking steps to help students facing food insecurity. Aside from monetary donations, the Spirit Run also accepted canned goods for donations to the Seawolf Food Pantry, and hundreds of cans were given from the community. This is one of our most meaningful campus traditions, and our office was honored to take part in it!
