Our week of "firsts" of the new school year continued today with the first Miller Chapel service of the 2026-27 school year.

After the retirement of our dear friends, Dave and Greta Reames, from their service to Miller Chapel the last five years, today we welcomed three of our four new Chapel Ministers to the Miller Chapel community - Rev. Mick Gilliam (who also plans and leads the worship songs each week), Rev. Becky Fauntleroy, and Rev. Obadiah Smith Jr. (Rev. Jerry Hilligoss will join them in this assignment this year.)

Rev. Dr. Nathan Willowby, dean of the College of Theological, Graduate, and Online Studies kicked off our sermon series, Finding Your Story in God's Story, with a message out of Genesis today. This year our preachers will follow a narrative arc through scripture as we gather each week.

Thank you for your prayers for our students, faculty, and staff as we journey through the academic and spiritual growth this year has in store!

The chapel theme is "Building On," and the chapel messages will be focused on the book of Exodus this fall. Here's to a fruitful new academic year!

CALL TO PRAYER 🙏 : Please join in prayer with our Church of God family in Anderson and Central Indiana experiencing historic and catastrophic flooding. 🌊

Pray for safety and wisdom as the community navigates how best to respond at this time. Local churches are serving as emergency shelters and discerning ways to serve the wider community.

To equip Church of God Ministries to respond alongside local believers, donations can be made to the Disaster Relief fund here: bit.ly/3UMCtTN 🤲

What happens when education meets real community impact?

At Remerge Institute, students and community leaders are challenged to think differently about the future of flourishing communities.

Through interdisciplinary learning, hands-on engagement, and collaborative problem solving, participants explore what it looks like to design solutions rooted in dignity, reconciliation, and long-term impact.

This is not learning for theory alone.
This is learning designed to move communities forward.

The work of transformation starts with people willing to ask the hard questions, listen deeply, and build together. To apply and learn more about our Fall courses visit institute.remerge.org/.
