In case anyone is wondering, AUPD is not on summer break 👀

Campus is a little too quiet these days…

We’d just like to report that we officially miss the students. 🥲

Even the ones speeding to class with 37 seconds to spare.

🚨 AUPD Patrol Update 🚨

Sergeant Caswell observed a vehicle speeding down University Blvd this afternoon and had to put in a little work to finally catch up near the 1600 block of East 8th Street. 🏁

During the investigation, Sgt. Caswell found

Driving while suspended prior 📄

Driving While Suspended Prior is a criminal misdemeanor offense in Indiana that applies when someone continues driving after already having a prior suspension-related conviction. Depending on the circumstances, it can carry fines, additional suspension time, and possible jail time. Probably not the bonus feature anyone wants added to a traffic stop. 🚓

Congratulations to all of today’s graduates. 🎓

Commencement is one of the most important days of the year on our campus, and AUPD was proud to have officers out in large numbers throughout the day helping with traffic control, parking, pedestrian safety, and event operations.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our students, families, and guests as they celebrated this milestone achievement.

To the Class of 2026 — congratulations on your hard work, dedication, and perseverance. We wish you nothing but success in the next chapter ahead.

🚨 AUPD Traffic Bingo: The Sequel 🚨

Today’s contestant added TWO more squares to the card:

✔️ Improper Lane Usage
✔️ Passing on the Left When Prohibited

The interesting part? This individual decided the best course of action was to drive around a fully marked police car at an intersection by going left around us.

We know there’s a 🧠 up there somewhere. Time to finally put it to use…

You guys have your bingo card ready?

Today’s driving lesson featured a little bit of everything:

❌ Illegal U-turn
❌ Following too closely
❌ Unsafe lane changes
❌ No seatbelt

At that point we were just waiting for “free space” in the middle of the bingo card.

Our officer conducted a traffic stop after observing the violations all within a very short distance.
