Alumni Spotlight: 50 Years of Nursing! 🩺
This one is extra special. This past June, previously Cheryl Wollum, now Cheryl Hamilton celebrated an incredible milestone — 50 years since graduating as part of only the second graduating class of Anderson University School of Nursing in 1976!
Cheryl walked across the Warner Auditorium stage following her Pinning Ceremony, and five decades later, she's still going strong — working as an RN Case Manager in the ICU in Florida. She says she's tried to retire three times, but nursing keeps calling her back. In her own words: "It's truly my calling, and God put this career in my path."
A few fun facts about Cheryl's journey: her father was a Church of God minister, and back on campus she was a cheerleader before switching things up to become a majorette at Anderson College. And the Raven family ties don't stop there — her great-niece recently graduated from AU and served as student government president!
When asked how she feels reflecting on 50 years in the field, Cheryl said it best: she's "thankful and blessed."
Congratulations, Cheryl — thank you for 50 years of dedicated, faith-driven service to the nursing profession. You are a true example of what it means to be a Raven! 🧡🖤
