🐦 Tiny visitor alert!

Met this adorable little fledgling hiding in the grass this morning. 💚

Baby birds like this are often learning how to fly and survive on their own while their parents keep watch nearby.

Nature reminder: Sometimes the smallest things bring the biggest smiles. ✨

Check out today's find! The American Woodcock.

Did you know??

They dance to find food! Woodcocks do a funny little “rocking walk” — it’s not just cute, it helps them detect earthworms underground!

Super long, sensitive beak. Their bill can flex at the tip so they can grab worms without even pulling it all the way out of the soil.

Sky dancers at sunset Males perform a wild aerial courtship display called the “sky dance” — spiraling high into the air, then zig-zagging down while making chirping sounds.

Eyes in the back of their head (almost). Their eyes sit high and far back, giving them nearly 360° vision to watch for predators.

Masters of camouflage. Their mottled brown feathers make them nearly invisible among leaves and forest floors.

Odd but awesome brain placement Their brain sits below their eyes — perfect for feeding while keeping watch above!

Early spring romantics. They’re one of the first birds to start mating displays — sometimes while there’s still snow on the ground.

Wow! What a beautiful sign of nature and spring. Honey bees (Apis mellifera) forming a swarm cluster on the tree.

A swarm happens when a colony divides and the old queen leaves with thousands of worker bees to find a new home. They temporarily gather like this—often for a few hours to a couple of days—while scout bees search for a permanent nest site.

Blue skies, blooming trees, and fresh spring air 🌸

☀️ Today is the perfect reminder that campus is more than classrooms—it’s also a place to recharge, reflect, and grow.

Take your notes outside, study under the trees, or enjoy a quick walk between classes. Time in nature can help reduce stress, boost focus, improve mood, and spark creativity. Sometimes the best study spot is right in the sunshine. 🌿📚

Get outside today and let the beauty of campus inspire your next great idea.
