Today's Spotlight Post is of Rahul Gupta! He is a current junior here at the University of Michigan studying Business from right here in Ann Arbor, Michigan! Rahul is the current leader of the Business Team for IGV and joined because he help lead the business effort/competitive spirit of an innovate, passionate autonomous vehicle team.
Rahul is excited for the team's competition and also has been excited by our recent team sponsorships that the Business Team has secured for IGV. Through the team, he has also learned more about the field of Autonomous Vehicles and has gotten the chance to get closer to our team this year as well. Rahul has experienced personal gain from the ways the team has challenged him at an individual level to produce higher quality work.
Outside of IGV, Rahul is a proud student in the Google Community Leaders Program working with 100+ SMB's each year helping them not only develop a digital footprint but educate them on how to use Google AdWords and Analytics to harness data driven insights. Additionally, he is a tennis coach at Father Gabriel Richard for the singles lineup and spends time coaching tennis players of all skill levels ranging from elementary - high school/college level. He also enjoys driving, gardening, and doing DIY projects at home with his dad. Most notably a project he completed was building a wine cellar in his basement.
Also a fun fact about Rahul is that the word "cookie" was his first english word and since he was first exposed to the word via Sesame Street, cookies have been his guilty pleasure and a pivotal part of his lifestyle. Additionally, the phrase "Ball Is Life" is a quite common phrase he uses, and an odd fact about him is that he has never lost a Ping Pong game since he has started college (Over 600 wins - 0 Losses).
Overall, Rahul is a driven individual that cares about the people he works with and believes that no matter how daunting the task or idea is, if you invest in your team and helping them achieve their own professional and personal goals, the intensity levels will increase and foster a more productive environment. This is an environment he strives to cultivate anywhere he goes, especially here at IGV.
