🎓✨ IC Student Staff Graduation Spotlight ✨🎓

Meet Nathan, a GEEA Peer Advisor and undergraduate cognitive science student! Originally from Daegu and East Lansing, Nathan has become an incredible part of the international community — whether he’s connecting with others at Coffee Hours, playing IC football, or helping students feel more at home on campus. We’re so grateful for the energy and kindness he has brought to the IC team.

We hosted the final 60 Minutes program of the academic year last week with our friends at and enjoyed an insightful presentation from Clavel Rangel, Knight Wallace fellow and journalist originally from Venezuela. Thanks to all who came, especially the many fellows from Knight Wallace who asked engaging and thoughtful questions! We look forward to seeing everyone in the 2026-2027 academic year for more 60 Minutes sessions 🌍💙

📋 April 28, 3:00–4:00 PM: Immigration Update Session
The International Center will host a series of immigration update sessions to share recent visa and immigration developments. Stay informed on what's happening!

🎓 April 30, 3:30–5:30 PM: International Center Graduation Reception
Graduates are invited to join us for a reception in the Michigan Union to enjoy refreshments and pick up your International Student Graduation Cord!

📌 IC Reminders
Travel registration is required for all U-M related travel and is strongly encouraged for personal trips or vacations.

If you think you may not be able to graduate this term, there may be implications for your I-20/DS-2019 end date and/or your post-completion OPT — talk to an International Student Advisor as soon as possible!

Learn about Venezuela in this presentation followed by open discussion and light refreshments.

⚽ April 22, 5:00–7:00 PM: April Soccer with the IC
Come play a pick-up soccer game with the IC! This game will be played at Hubbard Road Recreation Field on North Campus. All are welcome — a casual way to meet international students and scholars!

Join us for an opportunity to connect with people from all corners of the globe! A laid-back space to make new friends and share stories.

A casual space to connect with fellow international students and talk about life at U-M. Come as you are!

♿ April 15, 3:00–4:30 PM: Services for Students with Disabilities Office Hours at the IC
Introducing office hours with Services for Students with Disabilities at the International Center! Stop by the International Center to learn about SSD, how to connect with us, and how we can support you. Also, we‘ll have some cool swag for you, including stickers!

⚽ April 15, 5:00–7:00 PM: April Soccer with the IC

Join us as we celebrate international students and scholars with birthdays in April! We'll enjoy cake, coffee, and tea, and we encourage you to bring your friends together to celebrate your birthday!
