Michigan Women Law Students Association We are the Women Law Students Association at the University of Michigan Law School.

The Women Law Students Association envisions a Law School community in which every woman is an equal member of the Michigan Law School academically and socially, has the opportunity to meet and see positive female role models in the legal professions on a daily basis, is supported by other women in the law school community and beyond, has opportunities for public action in the service of women, is

prepared to assume any leadership role in society, and achieves her vision of success. Additionally, WLSA educates the law school community on legal issues facing women throughout society including, but not limited to, sex discrimination, employment, health, education, violence, and access to resources. WLSA is committed to creating a law school community centered on the pillars of Scholarship, Leadership, Mentorship, Camaraderie, and Service, and is open to all gender identities. MLR x WLSA x RSL will host an event on Friday, April 3, from 12:00–1:00 p.m. in JH 0225 to share information about the journal, walk through a Bluebooking exercise, and conclude with an open Q&A. Featured speakers include Avalon (Senior Editor), Heather (Editor in Chief), Kirby (Managing Editor), and Simran (Executive Notes Editor)—all members of MLR x WLSA or MLR x RSL. Join us for the Annual WLSA Leadership Banquet this Friday, February 20, from 5-9pm!

This event will feature Hon. Miriam A. Perry of the 15th Judicial District Court as our keynote speaker and Hon. S. Jereme Moore of the 15th Judicial District Court to present our Celebration of Women in Leadership Awards.

The evening will begin with a cocktail hour, followed by dinner and the evening’s program. During the event, we will honor the achievements of female and non-binary Michigan Law Students and present the Jenny Runkles Award along with the WLSA Leadership Award. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet and mingle with attorneys from some of the top law firms in the country.

Join us our Hot Cocoa Hour study break event in the Jeffries Lounge from 12:30-1:30 PM this Friday, November 21.

There will be a hot chocolate station where people can make their own hot chocolate, choose toppings, and grab snacks (like cookies, peppermint bark, and munchkins). See you then!
