The Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) creates research partnerships between undergraduate students and University of Michigan researchers. All schools and colleges are active participants in UROP, which provides a wealth of interesting research topics for program participants. UROP started with 14 student/faculty partnerships in 1988, and has expanded to include more than 1300 stud

ents and 800 faculty researchers. To learn more about UROP and the programs we offer, please visit our webpage at www.lsa.umich.edu/urop.

Today is Giving Blue Day—let’s open research doors for more Wolverines!

For 38 years, UROP has helped undergraduate students jump into real research and creative inquiry alongside U‑M faculty, building confidence, skills, and a sense of belonging from day one. Now that UROP is expanding as the Center for Research, Scholarship, and Creative Inquiry, your gift can help scale what works: more student positions, more mentorship and training, and more equitable access to these transformative opportunities.

Research turns curiosity into impact—helping students learn to ask better questions, solve real problems, and create new knowledge that lasts far beyond graduation.

Today, UROP spotlights and celebrates the work of UROP research mentor Professor Katie M. Edwards, from the School of Social Work and Director of the Interpersonal Violence Research Laboratory (IVRL), along with her UROP students Maya and Sadie. Together, they collaborated to publish the following video as part of their Peaceful Means Project.

The Interpersonal Violence Research Laboratory (IVRL) Fund is a programmatic fund intended to support the highly impactful work through research, community engagement, operational costs, and student support, all aimed at preventing and responding to sexual and related forms of violence.
