Finding rhythm, purpose, and connection. 🥁

Recently, CUAA Occupational Therapy students gathered in the Health and Humanities Lab for a drumming circle led by Dr. John Boonenberg, exploring the meaningful connection between creativity, fellowship, and purpose. Through shared music-making and reflection, students experienced how occupations can nurture not only physical and emotional well-being, but also the human spirit.

At Concordia, learning goes beyond textbooks and classrooms. We are committed to developing compassionate practitioners who care for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—as they prepare for lives of service to Christ in the Church and the world.

Now nearing graduation from Concordia’s Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction program, Emily is preparing for a future focused on literacy, student support, and college and career readiness.

Her story is a reminder that sometimes the right path becomes clear when you step into it.

This summer, Concordia University Ann Arbor is creating space for young learners to grow in skill, confidence, and joy through the new Move & Groove Youth Literacy Camp.

Designed for students entering kindergarten through third grade, the no cost camp combines literacy, movement, music, and play based learning to support the whole child. Led by CUAA faculty and facilitated by occupational therapy students, the experience reflects Concordia’s commitment to serving others with compassion while preparing students for meaningful hands on work.

Families will also receive practical tools to help support learning and development at home.

The camp runs June 22–26 on CUAA’s campus. Space is limited.
