Hello folks, it’s your herald.
In a marathon session last Sunday the DC approved a lot of budgets, chartered two new clubs, passed the BOB, and passed a Resolution of Council. Details on all of these happenings will be below, but in the mean time, please remember that you can ask the DC for money at any time through the Agora act. If you have a project that would benefit the Polity and need funds for it, please make an Agora request. If you have any questions about that process, please contact me at [email protected]. Also, we are meeting again today, so consider coming to see our shenanigans. https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85048396914?pwd=eWhNM1NkOVV6UFBudFZyQnp1SFAvdz09

On to the particulars:
Budgets were passed for the following, previously chartered clubs:
King William's Players
Board Game Club
Senior Prank
SJC Fencing Union
Experimental Philosophy
Sailing
Babel
Gadfly
Epoch
Shammai (supplemental)

We then chartered and passed budgets for two new clubs; the SJC Equestrian Club and Drunk Poets Society.
When Mr Lancaster finished tallying everything up the Budget Omnibus Bill (BOB) was passed and budgeting season was officially closed!
Our last order of business was passing a Resolution of Council, which you all will have seen in your inboxes. We asked the Administration if they were planning on honoring their promise to give students three midweek days of this semester for “reading and relaxation.” I am very excited to announce that the answer is YES! The Dean assures us that we will get all of our promised vacation days, which I’m sure will come as a relief to anyone with an annual essay due.
Your faithful herald,
Agnes

Dear Polity,

First, please congratulate our new officers, Polity Herald: Agnes Galvin, this comes after she received the most write-ins! (there was some confusion regarding the distinction between "abstentions (no confidence)” vs “write-ins”)

With this position filled, there are now 5 positions available: three Sophomore and two Junior delegate positions

Delegate positions allow unparalleled opportunities to work with clubs to build a strong campus culture and use the legislative process to improve campus life. If you are passionate about our school and strive to make it better, running for a position as a Delegate is right for you.

The Delegate Council is the Student Government Body that allocates funds to clubs and some individually organized events, oversees the Student Committee on Instruction, appoints student representatives to various boards, and generally represents student interests.

All delegate positions require availability at meetings currently held over Zoom. Most meetings occur on Wednesdays during lunch. Additional meetings may be scheduled during the evenings (after 7p) on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.

If you are interested in running, please file with Tom Ni ([email protected]) by Thursday, the 18th

The Delegate Council will hold Elections this Friday, the 19th

Warm Regards,
The Delegate Council
