Saks High School

Saks High School Saks High School is a part of the Calhoun County School system. Saks High is located in Anniston, Al The school would become Saks Jr.

In the late 1940's, the Joseph Saks family donated land for a school in the Saks community in the northern suburb of Anniston. High School covering grades 1-9. A small, white building would house the first grades at the school, but a new brick structure complete with a Jr. High gym that was "state of the art," at the time, was to follow. The school was expanded to include senior high grades in the

late 50's with the first graduating class to come in 1962. Today, Saks enjoys a campus that includes three buildings for classes, two gyms, a band room, a choir room, a large home economics department, and a beautiful athletic complex with four fields, but the campus is still known as "Dear ol' S.H.S."

WE CELEBRATE EVERYTHING!!!

On August 26, 2026, the Saks High School family lost one of its greatest supporters, Jeremiah Turner.

Jeremiah didn’t just wear Saks red—he bled Saks red. He was a familiar face in our community, a constant presence on the sidelines, and someone who supported our students and athletes with a passion that was truly unmatched. He loved Saks High School like no other and believed in our young men and women wholeheartedly. Whether it was football, basketball, baseball, track, or any other sport, Jeremiah was there. He cheered, encouraged, celebrated, and reminded our athletes that they had someone in their corner.

Tonight, and throughout the remainder of this season, our program will have Jeremiah with us in a special way. He will forever serve as an honorary captain of the Saks football team.

While we wish he could be standing beside us, hearing the crowd, and cheering on the Wildcats like he always did, we know his presence will continue to be felt every time we step onto the field.

Jeremiah’s love for Saks was bigger than a game. It was a part of who he was. His impact reached far beyond the scoreboard, and the memories he created with our athletes, coaches, families, and community will never be forgotten.

Tonight, we play for Jeremiah.
This season, we play for Jeremiah.
Forever, Jeremiah will be a part of Saks High School.

Rest easy, Jeremiah. Thank you for loving our school, our athletes, and our community the way you did.

Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat. ❤️
