In a review of polar reactions in Organic Chemistry, Dr. Peelen emphasizes that it is essential that each reaction has both a nucleophilic (electron rich) and an electrophilic (electron poor) reaction component. He compares this to picking an outfit each day by selecting one shirt and one pair of pants, illustrating this with items hypothetically found in his wardrobe. For the final exam, it looks like three LVC student-athletes raided his closet!
