Today, we’d like to recognize our Head Advisor, Tracy Buck! Tracy is an Alpha Psi alum and has recently taken on a position with the local Alumni Chapter. She’s always been very involved and devoted to this chapter and to Kappa Alpha Theta as an organization; her passion is exemplary. See below what she has to say about herself! ⬇️

I am currently a in-home daycare provider, a piano teacher with 22 students and a Ruby Ribbon Stylist. In my free time I enjoy taking care of my garden, crafting and making wine.

This week’s thriving thetas are Emily and Emma, who both had their recitals this weekend! Emily completed her junior recital, and Emma completed her SENIOR recital which was also her last performance at Lawrence! We are so proud of these talented thladies 💛✨💛

Advisor Appreciation Month continues!! Our next advisor that we’re featuring is an Alpha Psi alum herself!✨
Emily Henderson is currently the Marketing & Philanthropy Advisor and she’s been an active advisor in various capacities since 2009. Professionally, she is a Trade Manager at Kimberly-Clark, with focus on their Adult & Fem Care brands (Depend, Poise & U by Kotex). Personally, she resides in Appleton with her husband- Jeff and children - Adelaide (5) & Maxwell (1) and enjoys volleyball, hot yoga & baking. What she enjoys about advising is seeing members develop throughout their time within Lawrence- growing personally, academically and preparing for life after LU!
We love you Emily! Your positive attitude and supportive, kind heart has never gone unnoticed by us 💛 thank you for everything you have done for us! ✨

Yesterday, CASA of the Fox Cities threw their annual fundraising gala called CASAblanca! Every year, we always send a group of thetas to help make the event run smoothly. It’s such a fun way to connect with our local philanthropy! ✨💛

It’s still April which means it’s still Advisor Appreciation Month! Our next advisor that we are featuring is Marcia Vander Brink, who oversees recruitment. Here is a little biography to get to know her!
•
I am a Gamma Pi Theta from Iowa State University. While I would love to think it was just a few years ago I was sleeping in the cold air dorms, taking on leadership roles with sisters, attending functions, formal dinners, house parties, candle passings and having the time of my life with my theta sisters I am reminded I joined KAO 32 years ago! I am grateful for the friendships old and new, opportunity to serve as an advisor and realization that Theta is truly for a lifetime!

I love all things Recruitment and feel it is one of our most important jobs as Thetas. Recruitment allows us to shape the future of the organization and solidify our legacy. I whole heartedly enjoy serving as your Recruitment and Panhellenic Advisor.

I am the proud and usually exhausted mom of 3 boys. My oldest is creeping into the teen realm as he is newly 12 and the twins are 8. I volunteer for the Xavier Catholic Schools as much as possible and have recently joined a Kings Daughters Circle. In addition, I have worked at the same architectural firm since my college internship. Currently I work part time and manage a business sector that designs products for the healthcare environment. We have done textiles, carpets, patient room furniture, lounge furniture, and nurse stations to name a few. I immensely enjoy the opportunity to continue my career part time while raising a family!

Our first advisor that we’re showcasing is Susan Bakken who oversees our finances and facility management. See below for a little biography of this incredible leading woman who we are so fortunate to have as part of our chapter ✨
•
I am a Psi Theta from UW-Madison where I served as Vice President - Finance, Assistant Treasurer and Campus Activities director. I worked as a banker, a bank examiner and as a church financial administrator before my children were born, and currently work as the 3rd-6th grade children's choir director at First English Lutheran Church across from City Park. Theta provided me a home away from home on a very large campus and some of my closest friends to this day are Thetas from college.
