Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. - Howard County, MD Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Kappa Phi Lambda Chapter was chartered in Columbia, MD on March 1, 1975. The repast begins at 5:30 p.m.

The alumni chapter is a reaffirmation of early Alpha concepts that the common bond of Brotherhood extends beyond the college academic setting. The Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Kappa Phi Lambda Chapter meets every second Saturday of each month. with refreshments and fellowship and the meeting begins promptly at 6:30 p.m.

The Kappa Phi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., welcomed community members, civic leaders, and residents from across Howard County to an insightful and engaging Candidate Introduction Forum at The Ale House Columbia. The well-attended evening provided an important opportunity for voters to hear directly from several candidates seeking election to the Howard County Council, as each participant shared their vision, priorities, and plans for the future of Howard County.

Hosted as part of Alpha Phi Alpha’s long-standing commitment to civic engagement and public service, the forum encouraged meaningful dialogue centered on leadership, community development, education, public safety, economic growth, and quality-of-life initiatives throughout the county. Throughout the evening, candidates addressed issues impacting local neighborhoods and emphasized the importance of collaboration, transparency, and responsive government in serving Howard County residents.

The non-partisan Candidate Introduction Forum reflected the Kappa Phi Lambda Chapter’s continued dedication to promoting voter awareness, civic participation, and informed decision-making within the community. By creating spaces for open discussion and engagement, the chapter continues to uphold Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.’s national programmatic focus, “A Voteless People Is a Hopeless People,”. - Kerry G.
