Great opportunity for one of our scholars. Good job Lara!

This past summer, Lara Kockaya, senior Biochemistry major, had the opportunity to research in Dr. Robert Doerksen's lab at the University of Mississippi under the mentorship of Dr. Doerksen and Dr. Pankaj Pandey. The Doerksen lab is a computational medicinal chemistry lab, and they work on a variety of topics, such as cannabinoid receptors and analyzing potential drug leads. The research she collaborated on fell under the topic of examining a new potential drug for cancer treatment. Lara investigated four theoretical regioisomers of Daphnegiratriprenylone A, and the goal was to determine which of these were present from an isolated sample.
