From bold ideas to meaningful conversations, our students, judges, and community made this year's Discover Student Research Symposium one to remember.

Special thanks to our VIP judges, UTA alumni Dave Mire (Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry '99) and Nancy Schaefer (BSN in Nursing '82 and M.S. in Health Care Administration '16).

Everything is science, and we really do mean EVERYTHING 👀

What we call 'golden hour' is actually Rayleigh scattering!

When the sun is low on the horizon, its light travels through much more of the Earth’s atmosphere than at midday. The atmosphere acts as a filter, scattering shorter wavelengths of light (blue and violet) and allowing longer wavelengths (red, orange, and yellow) to pass through. The visual spectacle of warm hues can trigger the brain to release dopamine, which reduces stress 🌅
