General information

The Diversity Certificate Program (DCP) is an interdisciplinary certificate program designed to increase undergraduate students’ awareness of diversity and social justice issues. The certificate provides students with the skills to think critically about racial and ethnic relations, gender and sexuality, and social and economic inequality. The certificate enhances students’ scholarly training and career preparation by providing students with the opportunity to develop cultural sensitivity, diversity awareness, and advanced critical thinking skills. Drawing from existing courses, programs, and associations within the university, the DCP will enable its students to combine academic coursework with co-curricular and experiential learning experiences in order to demonstrate their preparedness for participation in an increasingly diverse society and interconnected world. Completion of the certificate provides evidence of specialized study, which can be beneficial for increasing future professional and academic opportunities. The certificate is marketable to a wide variety of employers, graduate and professional schools, as well as non-profit and community action organizations.
