The Legal Studies Institute's Paralegal Studies degree and certificate programs are approved by the American Bar Association. These programs prepare students for legal employment by emphasizing both an understanding of substantive law and practical legal skills in exciting areas of the law, such as family law, criminal law, and intellectual property law. the Legal Studies Institute's Law & Jurisprudence pre-law degree program is designed as a transfer program providing a law and liberal arts foundation for students interested in transferring to four-year colleges and universities and, ultimately, attend law school. 📚 Join us for an important discussion on birthright citizenship! 🇺🇸

THURSDAY, SEPT. 27 | 11 A.M. | CRSC 200

Who is “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States? This question is at the center of the recently decided Supreme Court case concerning birthright citizenship, Trump v. Barbara.

The Legal Studies Institute faculty will provide an informative presentation examining the Supreme Court’s decision and the 14th Amendment, which states:

“All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States…”
