Who is “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States? This question is at the center of the recently decided Supreme Court case concerning birthright citizenship, Trump v. Barbara.
The Legal Studies Institute faculty will provide an informative presentation examining the Supreme Court’s decision and the 14th Amendment, which states:
“All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States…”
