This past weekend Student Directors for Orientation and Transitions Emma Turner and Taylor Hemenway, Academic Support Coordinator Olivia Murray, and Associate Director for Transitions Joshua Sipe attended Spring Learning at Towson University. At the conference, Olivia, Taylor, and Emma presented “Just a Little More: Curiosity’s Impact on Student Leaders” and Joshu presented “From Advice Giver to Coach: How to Train Student Leaders as Coach.” Additionally, Emma and Taylor partnered with student leaders from in the undergraduate case study competition to solve a challenge around supporting orientation leaders.

The entire team enjoyed spending the weekend learning from and networking with other student leaders, grad students, and professionals from other institutions who share a passion for supporting students as they transition to college. The team is excited to incorporate their learning as we look forward to welcoming our newest YJs this summer!
