Hello friends of InterVarsity at Randolph-Macon! This page has been out of use for some time, but a lot has been happening on campus! I (Laney Sanchez, current IV staff at Macon and RMC IV alum) wanted to quickly share some highlights from the year and some different ways to stay up to date on what God is up to on campus.
Fall '22 and Winter '23 Highlights:
- We kicked off the semester with events that have become true chapter staples, like shaving cream whiffle call and our annual 99 days until Christmas party! The second week of classes, we launched eight small groups that have grown into beautiful, vulnerable communities that love to study God's word together and challenge each other.
- By the end of the fall semester, TEN students had accepted Jesus as their savior for the first time! We are praying for even more this spring!
- Nine students traveled to Indianapolis for IV's triennial missions conference, Urbana. Each student was deeply impacted by what they learned and saw there, and brought a renewed vision for God's kingdom on the college campus back with them.
- Our current chapter president and I went to the EVA conference in January, where we learned about God as El Roi, the God who sees, through the stories of Hagar, Sarai, and Abram in Genesis.
- Last week, a group of seven staff and students from Virginia, including three Macon students and alums, traveled to Asbury University for the Collegiate Day of Prayer and to witness the revival that was happening there.
