The League of Women Voters of Ashtabula County (LWVAC) is committed to empowering informed citizens, as they are the foundation of our democracy.

The 2024 Voter Guide (https://bit.ly/LWVAC2024VoterGuide), prepared by our League of Women Voters of Ashtabula County, showcases Ohio candidates' information through VOTE411. Some of the candidate information was collected by LWVOH, while other data was gathered by state League members. Our Ashtabula League members contacted local candidates directly.

All candidates were invited to participate through VOTE411, and their *unedited* responses are included. If a candidate’s information is missing, they did not respond to our request. All candidate information was entered by the candidates themselves into VOTE411 and remains completely UNEDITED.

Copies are available at all county libraries and included in Gazette newspapers.

Thank you all for joining our page - please invite all of your friends here and encourage them to do the same!

One of my fundamental operating principles is the intent to help as many people as I possibly can in the most efficient, logical, and shortest amount of time as I can. This is a concept I find all of you here to share and I say that knowing at least parts of some of your stories and your commitments to the progression of the communities around us.

I find it vital to address our region’s struggles in economic and social development, adequate agricultural subsidies, ensuring the proper allocation of funds to public education services, progressing public transportation, and protecting the civil liberties of all. I also believe that it is essential to work with local community organizations and schools to reduce the loss of lives from the ongoing opioid epidemic.

The shift away from logic and the most simple comprehension of basic humanity is apparent within those aligning themselves with the current Republican Party and some are far beyond meaningful and compassionate cooperation. It is for that reason we must make it a point to remind them, as Obama said in 2004, that "there isn’t a Liberal America nor a Conservative America but a United States of America."

You can sign a petition for the Ohio ballot initiative for reproductive rights. The deadline for signatures is approaching - for those wishing to sign in Ashtabula, there will be a drive-through at several local libraries Sunday, April 16, 1-4PM.

"The ballot initiative would provide that each individual has the right to make and carry out one’s own reproductive decisions, including but not limited to decisions regarding contraception, fertility treatment, continuing one’s own pregnancy, miscarriage care, and abortion. The measure would provide that the state of Ohio cannot penalize, discriminate, or interfere with an individual’s exercising of this right, and that the state of Ohio may regulate abortion after fetal viability unless if it is necessary to protect the life or health of the pregnant patient."
