This is a reminder to Save the Date for Saturday, October 19th to come out to the Lodge (1120 South Milledge Avenue) for the Annual Alumni Tailgate vs Kentucky this year! AS WE ALWAYS SAY, NETWORKING IS KEY!

Last Tuesday, Yogi Patterson (Alpha Delta ‘78) was invited to speak at the first annual NORTHbound Grady-Terry Crossover Panel at UGA. Kevin Smith (Alpha Delta ‘19), President of the Management Society, is grateful for the connections he’s made through Chi Psi and was excited to be able to combine them with his role as a student leader on campus in order to host Brother Patterson at the event.

Alumni: If you’re interested in speaking at one of our weekly Monday Chapter meetings to talk about your career, to meet the actives, or would like to get more involved in other alumni activities, such as our upcoming mentorship program, please reach out to Dave Woodruff or Yogi Patterson.

Alumni, Active Brothers, and Guests,

Alpha Alpha Delta would like to invite you to a porch dedication ceremony on Sunday, August 19th, at 5PM. In addition, group pictures are planned for the dedication, and we ask that Alumni and Active Brothers dress in coat and tie for said pictures. All dates, and wives are welcome, and the dedication will be catered. We look forward to seeing you!

Alumni, Family Members, Friends, and Active Brothers,
On Thursday, March 8, (on her birthday) over 30 AAD Alumni from the 1960’s and early 70’s, gathered at the graveside of Mrs. Ruth Beeland in Oconee Hill Cemetery in Athens, to honor her, their housemother, for her service during that period. After a brief memorial, everyone retired to the Sexton’s House for food and drink, and to reminisce about Mrs. Beeland. It was also a great opportunity for the Brothers who attended to reconnect with each other. The Sexton’s House was the cemetery manager’s residence at the turn of the last century. It has been lovingly restored into a beautiful hospitality venue by the Friends of Oconee Hill Cemetery. Also attending the service and reception were Mrs. Beeland’s two grandsons, David and William Carlton, and members of their families, from Huntsville Alabama and St. Simons Island Georgia. Much of the credit for bringing us all together for this event goes to Brother Rick Scott, #1 in 1964, who wanted us to remember her for how much she, as our mother away from home, cared for us, her boys. Thank you to those who attended. Mrs. Beeland will forever remain in our hearts.

As you may already know, this year we have chosen to be a part of UGA Miracle, the largest student-run philanthropy on UGA’s campus, projected to be the largest single donor to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in 2017-2018. Last year, the organization raised over $1.3 Million for our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, but this year our goals are even bigger! Today is our $100 Day campaign, and everyone in the organization has been challenged to raise $100 dollars in 24 hours! We, at Chi Psi, have fully committed ourselves to this challenge and truly believe that $100 has the ability to change the life of a child treated at Children’s. From our experiences so far in UGA Miracle, we have directly seen the impact that our money has on children treated at this hospital. Whether it be a physical therapist helping a child relearn how to walk or a nurse going out of her way to make sure a sibling of a patient is cared for, Children’s goes above and beyond in its care.
