Concord faculty, staff, and students participated in the Appalachian Arts & Crafts Fair in Beckley this year.

Distinguished Professor of Art James Biggs demonstrated pottery on the wheel, and students also demonstrated their work and processes. Jordan Saul, a second year graphic design and studio art major, took her turn at the wheel. Kylie Lovejoy, a third year student, displayed prints of her digital illustrations as well as printed copies of a recently published children's book that she illustrated. She also demonstrated the process she used to create the illustrations, working on her iPad and displaying on a screen so visitors could follow along.

Jade Pace demonstrated silkscreen printing techniques and hand-dyeing paper. Admissions counselor Allen Smith was also on hand, and the crew talked to visitors and several Concord alums.

The Concord University football team held off a late surge from Davidson to down the Wildcats 41-35 Thursday night at Field 76 at Davidson College Stadium.

Concord athletes took over the drive-in at Chick-fil-a in Princeton today. These volunteers gave out free tickets to the Concord v. Bluefield State football game!

We can't wait to see everyone at Callaghan Stadium on Sept. 5 for this year's Battle of the Blue Ridge!

Concord's Chemical Health and Safety Class focused on fire safety Tuesday, as Athens Volunteer Fire Department led most of the class in the parking lot behind Wooddell Hall.

Leaders from AVFD brought out a tanker and a host of fire extinguishers and offered every student and staff member a chance to test their skills at putting out a fire on an imaginary blaze on the hillside. Then, they cleaned up the mess with the water from the tanker. They also offered Mountain Lions the chance to climb atop the tanker, see the view from atop the truck, and spray off the parking lot below.
