Today’s CIS Forum featured Felice Munroe, Crisis Advocate at the Survivor Advocacy Outreach Program (SAOP)!
Felice, an alum of Ohio University’s M.A. program in Latin American Studies with a Graduate Certificate in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, shared a powerful and deeply thoughtful presentation titled “Cultural Reflections, Advocacy, and Cross-Cultural Trauma Support: Guyana vs. United States.”
Drawing on her work as a Sexual Violence/Domestic Violence Advocate with SAOP and her service as a CASA/GAL in the Athens County Court’s Juvenile Division, Felice explored how culture shapes trauma, healing, and advocacy approaches across contexts.
Thank you, Felice, for your honesty, expertise, and the compassion you bring to both your community and your profession. đź’š
