We’re one week into the residence hall selection process and here’s your latest snapshot at availability across campus! 🏡

After the first round of selection, we’re still seeing a variety of options available- including spaces in Building 2266, all first-year high rises, apartments in UV East, and even availability for both males and females in Myers Hall.

Because this is a student-driven process, availability is constantly changing and we’re not able to predict what will be open in future rounds. This should be used as a guide- not a guarantee. Our best advice: have a plan and a backup plan!

We’ll continue to keep you updated along the way!

Move-in planning starts now 📏🛋️

Before orientation kicks off, swing by the University Housing furniture showroom in Black-Diallo Miller Hall (8:30–11 a.m.) to see a representational sample of room furniture, measure pieces and get inspired for fall. Open to all orientation guests. We'd love to see you there.

The showroom is only open in the morning on the first day of each New Student Orientation session.

🏫Here are a few tips for families attending new student orientation this summer. Don't forget to check out the furniture showroom before heading to orientation.

Park in the Hull Street Deck
Walk up the hill on Baxter Street to get to Black-Diallo-Miller Hall
Students staying the night will drop off supplies before heading to orientation at the Tate Student Center
Families are invited to enjoy refreshments in the Black-Diallo-Miller lobby while students check in to their room for the night. Only students are allowed through the security doors to go up to the rooms.
The furniture showroom located at Black-Diallo-Miller Hall will be open 8:30-11 a.m. on the first day of each new student orientation session. Everyone attending orientation is invited to see a selection of furniture from halls across campus. You can take measurements and plan for the fall.
Don't forget a lightweight jacket. Tate is often chilly.

👀 Incoming fall first-year students should check their UGA today, May 14, for appointment time updates. The first round of room selection begins Tuesday, May 19. Additional rounds will take place over the next several weeks. Some students will have a later appointment time to choose a space and should continue to check their UGA email for updates.

Things to note:
🛌 All first-year students are guaranteed an on-campus space
👉️ Desired roommate pairs should be set up in The Dawg House prior to the appointment time
📆 The room selection period ends June 25, 2026 at 9 a.m. ET.

Emails may take all day to process through our system.

As move-out approaches, don’t forget about Dawgs Ditch the Dumpster! ♻️

Instead of throwing items away or storing them, students can donate gently used belongings through University of Georgia Housing’s move-out program.

Moving out this week? Here's a few tips to save you time and a few steps. 🐾
To keep move‑out running smoothly, please help us sort items correctly.

🗑️ BULKY TRASH (rugs, broken furniture, sleeping pillows, etc.)
→ Goes in the open‑top large dumpsters

♻️ DONATIONS (futons, clothes, mirrors, bedding, appliances, etc.)
→ Go in the donation trailers marked on the Move‑Out map

🚮 BAGGED TRASH
→ Goes in trash compactors or regular dumpsters
