Join us for the 4th Annual Summer Writing & Arts Summit on June 25-26 at Athens State University. This FREE two-day event features workshops, panels, writing groups, performances, an open mic, an arts and authors fair, and more.

Featured guests include Alabama Poet Laureate Jacqueline Allen Trimble and musical guests Eric Essix and Lee Bains.

We're also looking for volunteers to help make this event a success! Whether you'd like to attend, volunteer, or both, there's a place for you in this creative community.

Athens is officially an America250 Celebration City, and the Chamber & Tourism are working to turn the entire month of June into one BIG community celebration leading up to Red, White & Boom!

Every Friday in June, they are inviting businesses, schools, families, organizations, and the entire community to show their patriotic spirit by wearing red, white, and blue and joining the fun online.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Athens State University's annual Flag Day Celebration!

We were honored to gather with students, faculty, staff, veterans, and community members to celebrate the American flag and reflect on the values of freedom, service, and unity it represents. This year's event, held as part of the America250 commemoration, featured an inspiring presentation of the colors, patriotic music, poetry readings, and remarks from guest speaker Thanh Boyer.

A special thank you to our student poets, guest speaker, volunteers, and all who helped make this meaningful tradition possible. We are grateful for the wonderful turnout and the opportunity to celebrate alongside our campus and community.
