The Green STEM Camp offers four weeks of engaging, high-quality summer programming that blends literacy, STEM, and environmental learning in fun and meaningful ways. Using a place-based approach, campers explore their community, develop critical thinking skills, and deepen their understanding of the natural world around them. We highly encourage your child to attend the full four-week program (June 1–June 26, 2026, Monday–Friday from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM). However, families are welcome to register for as many weeks as work best for them.

Campers will enjoy:
Hands-on STEM experiments, simulations, and art projects
Outdoor exploration and imaginative play
Exciting educational field trips with community partners
Local author visits
Investigation-based challenges that build problem-solving skills
Small group ratios with dedicated camp counselors

Each camper also receives:
A free camp t-shirt
Free breakfast and lunch through the HAPCAP Summer Meals Program

Happy ! Today, we celebrate the joy of reading and its ability to bring enjoyment, growth, and connection. Whether you're reading to yourself or with someone else, every page turned supports comprehension, sparks imagination, inspires creativity, and helps reduce stress.

Reading isn’t just a skill—it’s a lifelong gift, which is why it's so important for teachers to enhance their ability to aid young readers. Our Reading Education programs are fully online to make it more convenient for licensed teachers to add a master's degree or reading endorsement. Connect with us to learn more!

Happy ! Books change lives, and so can you. Today, we celebrate the joy of reading and the importance of ensuring access to literacy for everyone. Professor Chris Kennedy joins in the celebration by recommending "Pudgy Possum the Brave: How Pudgy Got His Name" by Kathy Elasky.

As a reading educator, he says, "[Pudgy] is a delightful story of a young marsupial’s first trip out of his mother’s pouch. It is a story of courage that children can connect with as they encounter change. The author is a former teacher in the Federal Hocking School District [who] has served as the faculty coordinator for the Amesville Elementary PDS partnership in The Patton College’s clinical model of teacher preparation.”

Whatever style of book you prefer, make time to read today! And visit https://www.ohio.edu/education/teacher-ed/reading to learn about our online programs that equip teachers to help their students overcome barriers to reading well.
