UGA Chi Omega - Mu Beta Chapter Although the Chi Omega house appears small from the front, the dormitory area can accomodate 69 girls, making it one of the largest sorority houses at UGA.

Founded in 1895 at the University of Arkansas, Chi Omega is the largest women's fraternal organization in the world with over 380,000 members, 181 collegiate chapters, and 247 alumnae chapters. The Mu Beta Chapter of Chi Omega was founded on April 21, 1922 as the second sorority at the University of Georgia.

Throughout Chi Omega's history, six great purposes have been stressed, including friends

hip, high standards of personnel, sincere learning and credible scholarship, community service, participation in campus activities and career development. This allows all of the sophomores and executive board to live in the house. The front of the house has a large chapter room, an old-fashioned parlor room, a kitchen, and a dining room where breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served daily during the week. The courtyard, which is adjacent to the living quarters and the chapter room, is a great place to study on a cool fall day, to catch a few rays in the spring time, or simply to socialize. The house also touts a study room on the third floor with couches, tables, computers, printers, copiers, and study files all available as resources to the Chi Omegas. Fast Facts:

“Chi O is my home away from home. After every round in rush I was so excited to step into the house because every girl made me feel so seen.
Then, as I ran home on bid day my heart was so happy to see everyone I soon would get to know and love. I can now confidently say I ended up exactly where I was meant to be. Everyone is so intentional, kind, and authentic. They are there for you for your worst and very best. Chi O is a chapter that challenges, encourages, and supports me every day. I have found some of my very best friends that I will love and cherish forever. I am so grateful for this chapter and every single girl in it!”

“From the moment I walked into Chi O during recruitment, I was in awe of the genuine friendships and the energy in the house. The smiles, the way everyone supported each other, and how easily girls connected felt so real. I saw that everyone was truly friends, and that sense of belonging stood out to me immediately.

Choosing Chi Omega has given me the opportunity to grow, branch out, and be surrounded by the most kind, authentic, and inspiring girls. I feel so lucky to be part of something so genuine. And I’m so grateful for the people and the place that reminds me every day why I chose Chi O.”

It’s time for a very bittersweet with Courtney Roach from PC 22💝

Here’s what she has to say about her time in Chi O:

“Being a part of chi o has been one of the greatest gifts that college has brought me. As I look back on the past 4 years I’m brought to tears by the gratitude that fills my heart from each and every single friendship that chi o has given me. There is nothing more special than walking into a room and getting to have a relationship with girls from your own PC and at the same time, having just as close a relationship with a girl 3 PC’s younger than you. This place has shown me the importance of loving well and loving HARD. There’s no way I could have even begun to imagine the goodness that was waiting for me when I first stepped foot into chi o freshman year, but oh boy, I know with every bit of me that its one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Saying goodbye to this sorority that has become a home to me is incredibly bittersweet, I am beaming with pride over every step im getting to watch my friends take into the future and I’m also crying every time I think about not living 5 minutes down the street from all of my best friends. Thank you for it all, I’d choose you every time “

Here’s what Belle has to say about her time in Chi O:

The best college decision I made so far was choosing Chi O. The warmth that I felt from the girls, the genuineness from those around me, and the FUN that comes with all of it, are things that have stayed constant throughout my time here. I can already tell that these girls will be some of my lifelong friends. The older girls are people who I look up to and the girls in my PC encourage me to be better everyday! I am so grateful that I am able to call Chi O my home and will 100000% recommend it again and again and again!!

“Choosing Chi O was one of the easiest and best decisions I’ve ever made. It has truly shaped my entire college experience, and I am forever grateful for all the friendships and memories it has given me. I am incredibly thankful that Chi O allowed me to meet one of my best friends, Hannah. From meeting freshman year to studying abroad together to now being roommates and serving on exec together, I truly could not think of a more genuine, kind, and loving friend that I am so lucky to share my college experience with! Chi O is truly the best filled with the best girls, and I am so happy that I can serve as Vice President and give back to a place that has given me so much!!”

“Reflecting on my past three years at UGA, one of the best decisions I’ve made was choosing Chi O. The girls in this chapter are so special, and the friendships here are intentional, genuine, and full of love. I feel incredibly blessed to be part of this chapter and to be surrounded by these girls every day. Chi O has given me friendships that will last far beyond my four years in Athens, and one of the most special is my friendship with Caroline. We met freshman year and have been close ever since. She is kind, honest, and dependable, and I am so grateful not only to call her a friend but also to serve alongside her on Exec! My college experience would not have been the same without the genuine and authentic friendships Chi O has given me! It has truly been such a privilege to serve as Director of Programming and give back to a chapter that has given me so much!!”
