Alpha Omicron Pi, Omega Upsilon, Ohio University

Alpha Omicron Pi, Omega Upsilon, Ohio University We are the women of Alpha Omicron Pi at Ohio University! Alpha Omicron Pi was founded at Barnard College on January 2nd, 1897. The jewel is the Ruby.

On a snowy day, in the stacks of the Columbia Library, four women- Stella George Stern Perry, Elizabeth Heywood Wyman, Jessie Wallace Hughan, and Helen St. Clair Mullan, pledged to each other their unending friendship. Together they watched as the fraternity they so loved grew from one chapter to two, to five, until it became what it is today. Internationally, Alpha Omicron Pi has grown to over 17

7 chartered collegiate chapters and more than 323 chartered alumnae chapters in both the United States and Canada. Today it has over 123,000 members worldwide. The Omega Upsilon Chapter was founded on April 23rd, 1988, and we've been busy exceeding the expectation ever since! The only color of the fraternity is Cardinal. The Jacqueminot Rose is the flower of the fraternity, so chosen for its deep color and lack of thorns. The sheaf of wheat holds particular significance in the fraternity, representing usefulness and the bond of a shared goal.
