The UGA Department of Psychology welcomed more than 400 graduating students to this year’s Convocation Ceremony at the Classic Center as the Class of 2026 celebrated this milestone achievement.

We were honored to welcome alumna and Olympic medalist Maritza McClendon as this year’s keynote speaker, along with student speaker Rebecca Kann, recipient of the William T. James Award for the department’s most outstanding senior major in psychology.

Congratulations to all of our graduates as they join the growing network of UGA Psychology alumni. We can’t wait to see where your next chapter leads.

The Department of Psychology recently hosted its inaugural Building Connections in Psychology event, connecting students with alumni and professionals from across the region for an afternoon of networking, mentoring, and research sharing.

With funding from the Graduate School's Student Success & Well-Being Grant, the event brought 12 Psychology alumni and friends to campus. A research showcase and a speed mentoring session gave students the chance to engage directly with professionals working in a variety of industries and roles.

We are deeply grateful to the alumni, mentors, faculty, and students who helped make the event such a success, and we look forward to growing these connections for years to come.
