In May the wildlife club students took a trip out to the state of Delaware where they primitive camped for 5 days at Blackbird State Forest. While we were out there the students got to visit the Delaware State University and Delaware University Aquaculture Facilities. As well as meet with the Delaware Division of Wildlife Fisheries Unit to see the American Shad hatchery and their shocking equipment used for fish management. The students also visited the slaughter beach where they got see a variety of species both washed on shore but living along the beach. They visited Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge for an amazing birding experience and Cape Henlopen State Park where they got to see dolphins and many birds and plants we don’t get to see in Ohio. It was a great experience for the students and enjoy the pictures below from the trip.

Water temperature on our blue tilapia tank today is 69F and they are doing great. Still eating and growing fast and will be ready for sale at end of may or when pond water temperatures reach above 60F consistently.
Enjoy the video of about 3,000 small 3”-4” blue tilapia feeding. As you’ll see we have plenty of air stones and water movement to keep these fish happy and healthy.
