Join us in celebrating Katie Williams-Bravo and their upcoming plans!

Katie Williams-Bravo is graduating this May with her MM Vocal Performance and Pedagogy! In the past year, Katie has won 2nd place at Great-Lakes Region NATS, performed as a finalist in the student soloist competition, received an honorable mention at Ohio NATS, and performed with the Symphony of the Americas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, all while finishing her graduate research project. As she leaves Ohio University, Katie is heading back to her home state of Wyoming to teach in Teton County School District as an elementary music teacher. Her husband, Marcis Bravo (also graduating), has also accepted a position in the district. They are excited to be headed home to be closer to family and friends, and they are so grateful for all the opportunities Ohio University has given them the last 3 years.

Join us in celebrating Sophia Longo and their upcoming plans!

This summer Sophia Longo will be a Vocal Artist performing with Bayview Music Festival in Bayview, Michigan. She is performing in their Mainstage Productions the roles of Zerlina in Don Giovanni and Alma in The Music Man. She is also singing in their Sunday Night Concert Series and Spirituals Intensive.

Before Sophia leaves for the summer, she is giving a recital with Arno Jones on May 11th at 6:30pm at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Dublin, OH where they will perform Jake Heggie’s one-act solo opera At The Statue of Venus and other various art song and aria selections.”

Sophia’s Graduate Voice Recital will take place this weekend on Saturday, April 11th at 4pm in Glidden Recital Hall. She is also performing in Ohio University Opera Theatre’s Megamusical Cabaret on April 17th and is a featured soloist in Arno Jones’ Collaborative Piano Recital on April 22nd where they will perform Schumann’s Frauenliebe und Leben and Rodrigo’s Ayes.

Join us in celebrating Gloria Boykin and their upcoming plans!

Gloria Boykin is currently a first-year MM Vocal Performance and Pedagogy student. This summer, she will attend Orvieto Musica, a chamber music festival in Orvieto, Italy. During her time there, she will participate in Italian language classes, concert performances, voice lessons, and masterclasses with their esteemed faculty.

Sarah Julien (MM Voice Performance/Pedagogy) will join the Ohio University Voice Division as an adjunct faculty member this coming fall. Sarah will continue teaching at a private studio in Circleville, OH, and plans to continue studying voice with Debra Rentz, as well as auditioning and performing both locally and regionally.

Sadie Hagerty, a sophomore Voice Performance Major, will attend the National Music Academy Varna International this summer. Sadie will perform the role of Amy March in Little Women – The Musical, along with singing in additional concerts and productions with Varna International.

Join us in celebrating Lily Spencer and their upcoming plans!

Lily Spencer is a rising second year student working towards her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy studying with Debra Rentz. This summer, Lily is attending Varna International's National Music Academy in Columbia, South Carolina. She will be performing the role of Frasquita in Georges Bizet's Carmen as well as performing in the chorus. She will also have the opportunity to perform in Ernest Bloch's Sacred Service. She will also perform as a soloist in concerts such as From Stage to Screen: Broadway Favorites and Hollywood Classics and the Liederabend. She will also have the opportunity to participate is lessons, coachings, and masterclasses while at NMA.

Please join us in congratulating three of our outstanding graduate students: Gloria Boykin, Kylie Nabers, and Katie Williams‑Bravo! They were selected to sing in the chorus of Haydn’s The Creation with the Symphony of the Americas, an exceptional honor and professional opportunity. The performances were led by OU alumnus Maestro Luke Frazier. We are thrilled that our students had the opportunity to perform alongside artists of such high caliber and are incredibly proud of their dedication and hard work!
