To all Menlo Students:

As many of you know, I am retiring at the end of this month after 12 years at Menlo, the past three as library dean. It has been my sincere privilege and honor to have worked with all of you and the many students who preceded you.

I'm leaving the Library in very good hands, with the appointment of Valeria Molteni as the new Dean of Library Services. She will begin on January 16. I know that you will make her feel welcome. And Anne Linvill, Tricia Soto, Qi Huang, and all of our library student assistants will, of course, continue their work making the Library the welcoming and educational place it has always been.

Menlo is a very special place, and I am so grateful to have been a part of it and a part of your lives and education. I wish all of you the very best in the next semester or as new graduates. Enjoy your winter breaks and holidays.

Best,
Linda

Be sure to cite your sources! One of the most common questions we get at this time of the semester is how to cite a website. Here's a handy guide from the great people at EasyBib.com

Citing a general webpage/website article with an author Note: Many sources have APA citation formats for their online versions (e.g., online newspapers, dictionaries and encyclopedias). Check out our other guides or the APA Publication Manual (6th ed.) first to see if there is a citation for a speci...

Featured Book:
Read, listen, tell : indigenous stories from Turtle Island
McCall, Sophie, et al., editors
Call Number: PN6069.I53 R43 2017

“The goal of Read, Listen, Tell is not only to share with readers an incredibly diverse collection of Indigenous stories, but also to transform methods of reading by bringing into the forefront practices in interpreting texts that are grounded in Indigenous knowledge and scholarship. Each of the chapters offers particular strategies for reading the stories in multiple ways, encouraging readers to expand the scope of the "short story” by including a broad range of story forms. The chapters consist of five to seven stories, accompanied by a critical essay that helps contextualize some of the questions and issues the stories raise.“

"Read, Listen, Tell" is part of our Indigenous People mini-library. Stop by and check out the other books on the shelves.
