It was such a gift to be together for Founders Day and to hear words of wisdom from Dr. Penny L. Elkins, President of Mercer University: “So friends, it may be said that what Mercer hoped would originate was tender hearts, tough minds, and trained hands. Today I stand as a steward of the legacy, and invite you students, you faculty and staff, you alumni and friends of McAfee, to press on, increasing impact for students, enhancing the academic enterprise, and amplifying the story.”

Last Tuesday was our Annual Founders Day service which included a Celebration of Calling for all of our new students, some of which joined us online. We were inspired by the words of our new President, Dr. Elkins, as we looked to the past to see where we’ve come from, celebrated the present, and looked to the bright future ahead of us. What a gift to be a part of a school that celebrates the callings of all of our students in this sacred ritual and an absolute honor to be surrounded by those who were so incredibly instrumental in the founding of this institution.
