We are proud to celebrate Dr. Stéphanie Boulard who received the 2026 Excellence in Research Award in honor of her outstanding scholarly achievement, international distinction, and sustained intellectual leadership.
Professor Boulard has built a highly influential body of work at the intersection of literature, visual culture, film, material culture, and contemporary theory, exploring how images and language shape aesthetic and intellectual experience.
Over the past four years, her accomplishments include a co-authored monograph (Hugographies), a major translation of Pascal Quignard’s The Answer to Lord Chandos, five refereed journal articles, three book chapters, and nine entries in the Dictionnaire de Victor Hugo. She also guest edited a double special issue of Dix-Neuf, helping shape key conversations in literary and visual studies.
Her international impact is equally remarkable, with five keynote addresses delivered at leading institutions including Vanderbilt University, University of Pennsylvania, Brown University, Miami University, and University College London.
In 2024, she was named Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques 🇫🇷—one of the most prestigious honors awarded by the French government, recognizing exceptional contributions to the promotion of French language, culture, and education worldwide.
Congratulations, Professor Stéphanie Boulard!
