On the third day of National Public Health Week, we are joining in on Ready, Set, Action! Flood the Feed, a coordinated social media initiative highlighting the strength and impact of the public health community. There is no better exemplar of this than the ingenuity and creativity of our students. Last February we hosted our annual Intramural Global Health Case Competition, where this year's challenge—Aging in Place in Georgia: The 2035 Dilemma – A Statewide Systems Challenge—asked interdisciplinary student teams to design bold, systems-level solutions to support Georgia’s aging population. The competition continues to showcase the power of cross-school collaboration at Emory University and prepares students to tackle complex, real-world health challenges.
As you can see from the genuine joy, laughter, and camaraderie in these photos, global health is very much a field that is alive and thriving. Whatever challenges may be thrown at the field of public health, its future leaders are resilient, passionate, and strengthened by true connections and support.
