Three Powerful SEL Tools to Engage the Spirit, Delight the Child and Transform the Classroom!

This three-part presentation will begin by considering what Dr. Montessori referred to as the “Intelligence of LOVE”! We will examine the latest research on the role of the heart in aiding adults and children alike to emotionally self-regulate by connecting to and breathing from the heart; We will then introduce the labyrinth, a powerful kinesthetic teaching tool employed throughout the ages as a place of peaceful self-discovery; and finally, we will learn to employ stories, discussions, songs and playful activities as a means of generating “heart-centered reflection questions” designed to enable each child to recognize when they are “upset” and return to their natural, peaceful “pre-set”, with ease! 3 Hours.

Presenters:

Melinda Cropsey

Melinda is the author of The Breadcrumbs Curriculum, a unique heart-centered approach to SEL (Social - Emotional Learning). The Work That Changes Everything

If you've been considering Montessori certification, ask yourself: What's holding you back?

MTEI of Atlanta - Atlanta main site and Nebraska satellite location still have spots available—and this might be the moment that changes the trajectory of your career and the lives of countless children.

Why this training matters:

Montessori education isn't a teaching method—it's a profound understanding of human development. This certification equips you to truly see children, to create environments where they thrive, and to guide rather than dictate learning.

The educators we prepare don't just manage classrooms. They understand developmental needs. They observe with precision. They create spaces where children's natural curiosity becomes the curriculum.

What sets MTEI apart:
→ Accredited Infant-Toddler & Early Childhood Programs
→ Faculty with decades of real classroom experience
→ Rigorous training in observation, child development, and authentic practice
→ Hybrid format designed for working professionals
→ A cohort model that builds lasting professional community
→ Globally recognized credentials that open doors

This isn't about adding a line to your resume. It's about fundamentally changing how you understand children, learning, and your role as an educator.

Spaces are still available, but they won't be for long.
If you've been waiting for a sign, this is it. The children in your future classrooms are waiting for an educator who truly understands them.

So grateful to share that we will be presenting at The Montessori Event 2026 in DC!

We’ll be leading a session on Educator Burnout: When Passion Isn’t Enough – exploring what happens when loving what we do isn’t enough to sustain us, and what we can actually do about it.
Even more exciting: we’ve been invited to join the Spotlight Session on The Montessori Educator’s Inner Life: Practices for Joy, Resilience & Anti-Burnout with author Katie Keller Wood! This main stage opportunity means so much, and we’re honored to contribute to this critical conversation alongside her work on Alignment: A Montessori Approach to Reimagining Work-Life Balance.

Last year’s session on post-pandemic trauma-informed classroom strategies resonated deeply with so many of you (swipe to see some of the incredible feedback ➡️), and we’re building on that foundation this year.
If you’ve experienced educator burnout or are supporting colleagues through it, this is for you.
Let’s talk about what happens after the passion – and how we sustain ourselves for the long journey ahead. 💙

We hope to see you at one of these sessions or connect with you throughout the event.

Lastly, visit us at the Exhibit Hall, Booth #332 – we’d love to meet you in person!
