Center for Education Integrating Science Math and Computing (CEISMC) Bringing Georgia Tech's Spirit of Research & Innovation to K-12 STEM Education in Georgia as part of the College of Lifetime Learning!

The Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC) (pronounced like "seismic") is a unit of the College of Lifetime Learning at Georgia Tech. Since 1991, CEISMC has served as the primary connection point between Georgia Tech and the pre-collegiate education communities. CEISMC provides inclusive and inspiring STEM/STEAM enrichment experiences in classroom and out-of-

school settings. CEISMC develops an extensive array of research and implementation programs focused on multiple dimensions of STEM educational reform. CEISMC offers teacher professional development focused on innovative curricula and evidence-based practices in fields such as STEM with arts and music integration, computer science, robotics, invention and entrepreneurship. These opportunities and initiatives are achieved through school and community outreach and local and sustainable partnerships that foster student success and workforce development. EXCEL, Georgia Tech's inclusive postsecondary and education opportunity housed within CEISMC, is a four-year college certificate program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Throwback Thursday: 40 students from Lilburn Middle School in Gwinnett County joined us last week on campus for a tour of the Invention Studio, retro video game workshop with the GT Library, and a STEAM activity at the Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA). This outing was in part a celebration of another successful year of the GoSTEM Club at LMS, our after-school STEM club that meets weekly led by a rotating group of GT graduate students.
