Delta Sigma Phi, Alpha Gamma Chapter

Delta Sigma Phi, Alpha Gamma Chapter Men's general fraternity at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Better Men. Better Lives. Still, we are not content to rest upon these achievements.

The Alpha Gamma Chapter of Delta Sigma Phi was established at Georgia Tech on January 10, 1920, when it brought to campus a truly unique fraternity experience. After a three-year hiatus, the Alpha Gamma chapter of Delta Sigma Phi was reinstated in 2000 and received its charter on April 20, 2002. Although our chapter is relatively young, we have already shown that Delta Sigs are capable of becoming

Mr. Georgia Tech finalists, of attaining the highest fraternity G.P.A., of strengthening the community through service, and of truly coming together as a family. Instead, we eagerly look to the future for the addition of new brothers to add new depths and strengths to an already solid brotherhood.

Day of Giving / Call for Memories

Dear Brothers,

Welcome to the GT Delta Sigma Phi inaugural Day of Giving! What an amazing time to be a GT Delta Sig alumnus. Under the no nonsense, sleeveless hoodie leadership of Coach Key, Yellow Jacket football is once again a source of pride and excitement as evidenced by our undefeated start to the season and the epic, storm the field victory over those annoying Clemson Tigers. Likewise, our current actives continue to be an Alpha Gamma source of pride, as evidenced by recognition at this year’s convention where the chapter was awarded the Pyramid of Excellence. Additionally, Hunter Richardson was honored as the recipient of the E. Allen James Outstanding Undergraduate of the Year Award. Presented to one undergraduate during convention years, this award recognizes the undergraduate member who has contributed the most to both his chapter and the fraternity.

While on one level this Day of Giving is about seeking your financial support of our Evergreen Fund, on a higher level it represents a celebration of our brotherhood. To this end, we invite you to participate in a fun exchange of memories amongst old friends that will help build momentum leading up to homecoming on October 25th. We encourage your active participation by taking a moment here to share best memories of your time at Georgia Tech and Delta Sig. The more brothers that chime in with their favorite memories the more shared laughs we will all have as we look back on some of the best times of our lives. Please join in as we celebrate our first Day of Giving and build homecoming momentum!

YITBOS,

Chris and Stan

Brothers and Friends,
With a few hours to go before we face the Climpsum Tigers for Homecoming, we wanted to continue our photo series celebrating 100 years of the Alpha Gamma Chapter at Georgia Tech. A lot has happened during the ensuing 100 years, but our chapter remains strong and dedicated to the values of Culture, Harmony, and Friendship.

Today, we're featuring more recent mementos from the Chapter.

If you'd like to help keep the chapter strong for another 100 years, please consider donating to the Evergreen Fund at https://godeltasig.com/donate.html. Evergreen supports House maintenance and development to keep it looking new and operating at peak performance for years to come. For more information about Evergreen, please contact Moe Trebuchon.

Here's hoping that we'll finally be able to gather together in person in 2021!

Brothers and Friends,
As we approach this year's one-of-a-kind Homecoming (Is it really the Freshman Cake Race if you aren't running at the crack of dawn with no sleep?), we wanted to recognize the 100th anniversary of the Alpha Gamma Chapter at Georgia Tech. A lot has happened during the ensuing 100 years, but our chapter remains strong and dedicated to the values of Culture, Harmony, and Friendship.

While we can't gather in person this year to have a true Delta Sig celebration as we had originally planned, (We're holding out hope for a helluva party in 2021!) we did want to virtually celebrate our chapter's rich history in a two-part photo series. Today, we're featuring highlights from scrapbooks and trophies of past eras. (Special thanks to undergraduate Brother Dan Gillis for his help in taking these photos.) Saturday, we'll feature more recent mementos. Perhaps we'll be able to add a new memory Saturday with a victory over Climpsum? One can hope...

I hope this message finds you safe and healthy. With Tech's stirring victory over FSU, we look ahead with renewed optimism to our home opener against UCF this upcoming Saturday.

Georgia Tech Athletics has announced that on-campus tailgating will not be permitted for Tech football’s 2020 home opener versus UCF on Saturday. https://ramblinwreck.com/no-on-campus-tailgating-for-home-opener/

For those of you visiting campus or attending the game, please note that the Chapter House is in COVID-19 lockdown until further notice. The lockdown and other precautions have been effective in limiting the number of cases among house residents and mitigating the overall risk.

Unfortunately, due to the lockdown, we ask that no alumni park in the parking lot or enter the house or our grounds. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to a return to the normal rituals of brotherhood in the not too distant future.

If you have any questions, feel contact Stan Hill.

Brothers,
Just when it seemed that the heat of summer would never end, the mercury has suddenly dropped just in time for the reappearance of barely mobile monstrosities held together by duct tape, pomps, and college students riding modified tricycles around Peters Parking Deck. Yes, it's time for Homecoming!

Delta Sig's 2019 Homecoming festivities will kick off on Friday, November 1, with a Happy Hour at 6 PM at Atlanta Brewing Company (2323 Defoor Hills Rd NW #2207, Atlanta, GA 30318). Come join your brothers for a frosty beverage and reminisce about the good ol' days. Spouses and significant others are welcome.

On Saturday, November 2, the House will be officially open after the end of the Ramblin' Wreck parade when the undergraduates defend last year's win in Fixed Body. As in past years, food will be available beginning at 2:00 PM. Lemonade and iced tea will be provided; please bring your own adult beverages if desired.

The annual ACB meeting will begin at 2:30 PM. Key topics to discuss:
*Century Campaign collection progress
*Introduction of the Evergreen Fund
*Discuss plans for our Centennial Homecoming in 2020. We will be soliciting volunteers for the planning committee
*ACB needs new blood! Think you have what it takes? We want you! Please consider nominating yourself or someone you know to be on ACB.

A limited number of parking spaces in the house lot are available for those brothers who need them. Please contact ACB President Stan Hill at [email protected] to request a pass.

Summary of Events
*Friday, 11/1, 6 PM. Happy Hour at Atlanta Brewing Company
*Saturday, 11/2
-2:00 PM: Food available
-2:30 PM: ACB meeting
-4:00 PM: Toe meets leather

Questions? Please contact ACB Vice President Han Chang at [email protected].

We look forward to seeing you on November 1st and 2nd. Go, Jackets!

P.S. If you are an alumnus of Delta Sigma Phi and didn't receive this email, please contact Han Chang at [email protected] to be added to our mailing list.

Brothers & Friends of DSP......it is time to experience our new home from the inside out!

Our new chapter house will be open for walk throughs and viewing on August 11th from 2pm to 5pm. This open house will be an informal gathering. There will be no formal program, food, etc. If so inclined, feel free to bring a cooler and consume a few of your favorite beverages in our new chapter room, or front porch, or front balcony, or welcome bridge, or welcome plaza! Well....you get the idea.

If you are going to be in the Atlanta area that afternoon and have availability, definitely stop by to experience this one time opportunity to view a shining, brand new Delta Sigma Phi chapter house in its pristine state. I am pretty certain you are going to be impressed! And, it will only further whet your appetite for the great fun we are going to experience at the House Dedication Celebration the evening of October 12th. (Details for the Dedication Celebration at godeltasig.com/celebrate.)

Parking will be available on a limited basis in the lot adjacent to the house for up to 20 vehicles. Those with special circumstances will receive parking priority. If you need to reserve a spot due to special circumstances, please reach out to Stan Hill at [email protected]. We expect the lot will fill fast.

Please note that GT Football Fan Day is taking place this same day from 4pm to 6pm (we encourage folks to attend Fan Day after leaving DSP to check out the team's sleek new Adidas gear). It is very likely that the Peters Parking deck will be open and available for free visitor parking. If not, there is GT metered visitor parking on the curb along Brittain Drive running parallel to Peters Park. There is also paid visitor parking in the State Street parking deck and at Tech Square.
