Georgia State University iGEM team/ SBC

Georgia State University iGEM team/ SBC iGEM is a research competition that GSU will compete with 200 top Universities around the world. Syn Club membership is not a requirement to join the iGEM team.

Synthetic Biology Club exists to provide undergraduate students the opportunity to collaborate ideas, research, and laboratory techniques related to the field of synthetic biology. Involved students will have the opportunity to participate in journal readings and discussions, as well as fellowship with other like-minded scientists, in both informal and formal manners. In addition, students will be

allowed to try out for the Georgia State University iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machine) competition team. In the past iGEM team 2013 students were able to win Bronze Medal and Best presentation in Toronto iGEM North America Jamboree by competing with the top universities in the North America such as Harvard, Yale, MIT, Calgary. Joint affiliation within both organizations will be likely, due to the nature of the subject matter. Why to join Synthesis Biology Club? You will meet with the best Biology professors at GSU during our monthly meetings. You will also get a chance to meet with iGEM 2014 team members and possibly joining their team for participating for the next year’s iGEM competition.
