Many children around the world have fallen behind with their recommended vaccinations, in part due to .

ISyE Professors Pinar Keskinocak and Joel Sokol, Ph.D. student April (Zhuoting) Yu, and Yao-Hsuan Chen at MSD Invents recently published a paper which provides methods for de novo and catch-up scheduling, with the goal of increasing vaccine coverage.

Pediatric immunization is important for preventing potentially life-threatening diseases in children. Over time, the number of recommended pediatric v…

Congratulations to Ph.D. student April (Zhuoting) Yu, the lead author, Professor Pinar Keskinocak, and the wonderful collaborators Lauren Steimle from Georgia Tech H. Milton Stewart School of ISyE and Inci Yildirim from Yale University School of Medicine on their new paper!

"The Impact of Testing Capacity and Compliance With Isolation on COVID-19"

Having an accurate test to detect an infection is important, but unless (i) the test can be deployed early and distributed widely during an outbreak, and (ii) individuals comply with self-isolation when they test positive or experience symptoms, the impact of testing can be limited. Reminder about the importance of "systems thinking," including logistics, behaviors, and education, while developing and deploying pharmaceutical interventions. High test accuracy alone does not guarantee good outcomes.

Congratulations to ISyE Ph.D. student, Arden Baxter, for her recent publication!

The paper, published to the INFORMS Journal on Computing, examines the problem of coordinating heterogeneous resources that are required simultaneously by demands. This subject has many applications, including emergency response. Co-authors are Arden's advisors, CHHS Director Professor Pinar Keskinocak and Professor Mohit Singh, Director of the Algorithms and Randomness Center at Georgia Tech.

Great job, team!

We consider the problem of allocating multiple heterogeneous resources geographically and over time to meet demands that require some subset of the available resource types simultaneously at a spec...
